Physical postures (Asanas), breathing (Pranayama) and relaxation are combined to allow for development of a deeper understanding of your own body and yoga practice.
Each of our classes consists of a selection of postures that have a particular focus or theme and vary depending on the needs and capabilities of the individuals participating. This physical aspect combined with the other yoga principles helps enhance strength, flexibility and balance of the entire body both physically and mentally.
Shoreham Chiropractic Clinic offers two different types of classes, Hatha Yoga (including both Scaravelli and Sivananda styles) and Vinyasa Flow.
Hatha Yoga is one of the more subtle forms of yoga, drawing on all aspects of yoga but particularly a varied selection of postures and breathing exercises to encourage exploration, understanding and improvement of our body’s natural movement patterns.
A relaxed caring atmosphere is created in these classes which can be enjoyed by all ages and all levels.
Vinyasa Flow Classes, in the words of one of our Shoreham yoga teachers “be prepared to work hard in this vigorous class”.
Each session begins with sun salutations to deepen the breath and increase the heat in the muscles, preparing the body for postures that will challenge your flexibility, balance and stamina.
Postures flow into each other linked by the breath. In some classes music will be played adding to this challenging but fun and motivating class.
YOGA FOR LOWER BACKS COURSE
To help all those with a history or currently have lower back issues whether mild, moderate or severe. This is 12-week program gives you the tools to manage your back care for the rest of your life.
